IDeA National Resource Summer Internships for Undergraduate Students in Proteomics

Award Information: The award will consist of a 10-week internship (May 23rd- July 29th, 2022) at the IDeA National Resource for Quantitative Proteomics located at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. The internship includes a $6,000 stipend, along with university privileges for the participants on campus including the use of the library, computer laboratories, and recreational facilities. A travel award of $400 is available for each participant.  This travel award can be used to present at a national conference or regional scientific meeting in the year following his/her Internship.

Eligibility: Internships are available for Arkansas undergraduate students who will be rising juniors or seniors in the fall semester majoring in science, (e.g. biology, chemistry, or related major). The Proteomics internships are designed for students with a solid background in science who wish to know about translational research, scientific work in the laboratory that translates to direct patient care.  This internship will provide experience in Proteomic and/or Bioinformatic Sciences and is designed to encourage pursuing a career in biomedical research.

Application Process: An online form can be found at https://proteomics.piestar-rfx.com/rfp/104/proposal/create.  The deadline to submit this form is March 2, 2022.  Two letters of recommendation are required for each applicant and can be submitted to Proteomics_Internship@uams.edu.  Please include the applicant's name in the subject line.
